Despite from foreigners' view that today's China has been greet changed: China's openning to the world, it's rapid economic growth, its political modernization, change in the way the young behave, change in the entertainment and culture, change in the education system, and many others.
But it's all the seemingness. Frankly speaking, these changes will lead China into trouble.
China now has two main problem: interclass gaps and the ecocnomic overheat. The neo-leftism and liberal schloars of China has debated since the end of last century, the pick on each other in many place. The new left criticize the unfair of society resulted from the invade of captialism focusing on the underclass. Liberal believes there is not enough liberalism, and it requires a compelte legal system to maintain the social orders.
But they all admit the fact: In the 20 years' reform, tone class gradually get complete control over nearly all the resources in the country, and they are the ones beniefit most from ecnomic growth. with power in their hands, even captalists have to depend on them for protection. As a matter of fact, captalists have become part of the ruling class, or the classe with vested interest.
Look at the underclass, for example, unemployed workers in state-owned enterprises, they contribute their work and youth life in the past days to the country, but they loss their job. Half a loaf is better than no bread, the unemployed worker could get some alms from goverment. The worst class it's farmers, They begin with pennyless, and end with not a brass farthing in their hands. Farmers can't make ends meet through farming, so they move to the city to find some luck with not enough education. Because the migrants lack of proper eduacation and training, they only could do the dangerous and dirty works: like hardhat and dustman. All the underclass people don't have safeguard, can't afford basic social security like eduation and medical care, a big illness will very likely to cost them a fortune, and college eduation is beyond the wildest dreams of their children, which forbids the underclass kids become members of the "class with vested interest".
